Transvaginal mesh is used to treat pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Thousands of patients have reported severe complications including mesh erosion into surrounding tissue, chronic pelvic pain, dyspareunia, and recurrent prolapse.

The FDA ordered manufacturers to stop selling transvaginal mesh for POP repair in 2019. Many lawsuits have been consolidated into MDLs against Boston Scientific, Johnson & Johnson, and Coloplast.

If you received transvaginal mesh and have experienced complications requiring revision or ongoing treatment, preserve your surgical records and consult with an attorney experienced in mesh litigation.
