Every FDA-approved prescription drug includes a label (prescribing information) organized into standardized sections. The highlights section summarizes boxed warnings, recent changes, indications, dosage, and safety information for quick reference.

Section 5 (Warnings and Precautions) and Section 6 (Adverse Reactions) are especially important for patients. The Medication Guide provides FDA-approved patient-friendly information that includes known side effects and safety concerns.

You can find current FDA labels for any approved drug through the Drugs@FDA database or the OpenFDA labeling API. Comparing the label from when you started the drug against the current label can reveal whether the manufacturer added warnings after you began treatment.
