Multiple studies have found that women who use chemical hair relaxers frequently face a significantly higher risk of uterine cancer, as well as ovarian cancer and fibroids. The chemicals may act as endocrine disruptors.

The Sister Study published by the National Institutes of Health found that women who used straighteners more than four times per year had more than double the risk of uterine cancer compared to non-users.

If you regularly used chemical hair relaxers and have been diagnosed with uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, or uterine fibroids, consult an attorney to understand your legal options.
